Intune are on-tune at the inaugural Digital Media and Marketing Summit

Category: Breaking News

During the inaugural Digital Media and Marketing Summit the team at eightytwenty/interactive decided to giveaway a prize of €10,000 worth of audit, training and consultation. Madness I know, but then we are very generous people. The winning company was Intune Networks Ltd, and the cheque to Fergal Ward and John Dunne from Intune Networks was presented by our very own Philip Macartney and David Connor.

Nestle Social Media Fail

Stumbled across this little doozy of an example of how social media can go very wrong, very quickly, when placed in the wrong hands – I’m predicting this story will be be all over the “interweb” in about…5mins!

Here’s the link to the Nestle Status update, where the moderator is presumably having a very bad day and taking it out on the page users.

We Broke Twitter…..Sorry!

The staff here at eightytwenty would like to apologise for the high number of tweets surrounding Dragon’s Den and Bank Of Ireland’s allaboutbusiness.ie last night that resulted in the Twitter server becoming over capacity and displaying error messages for a lot of users.

We realise that the integration of Twitter into the comment stream on the allaboutbusiness.ie website is causing a spike on Thursday evenings and would like assure you that we are doing our best to resolve this issue so that it doesn’t happen again.

Yours in Digital,

The Team

We’ve just put the finishing touches to the latest instalment of Munster Matters, the online magazine for Munster Rugby. In it, we take a look at the upcoming Heineken Cup matches, The British & Irish Cup, as well as an in-depth interview with Mick O’Driscoll.

The magazine has a hat-full of interactive elements, info, and videos, as well as being fully share-able. Take a look and let us know what you think!

Just one more thing…

We’re all patiently waiting on the Apple Event to take place and the widely anticipated announcement of the Tablet. We don’t know what it will be called, or exactly what features it will have, but a couple of things we can be sure of – this device will be pleasing to the eye, and it most certainly will cause an explosion in internet chatter over the next 24hrs!

Is this device going to be an XL version of an iPod touch/iPhone, will it be launched as a competitor to the Kindle, or will it be a Tablet based computer? There has never been a tighter lid kept on a new product launch at Apple, which leads this writer to believe that Apple, and Mr Jobs, are really swinging for the fences with this.

If anyone has heard rumours please feel free to comment below.

Back with a Bang for Twenty10

New years is over and everyone is back at Cloud Number 9. It’s not great to be back but looking at some of the campaigns we’ve got coming up it’s hard not to get excited!

Anyway i’ll keep it short and sweet, so here is the latest video to come through the production team at eighty:twenty, a Carol-Off Mashup for Meteor.

Enjoy!
